"Seeing Stars" Feat: China Glaze "Smoke and Ashes"

OMFG HUNGER GAMES! Not really, still haven't jumped on the hype, i'm just buying the polish. Today i have an overkill look that i did for a Polishaholic Mani Monday challenge. I still don't know when to stop. The theme was Sun, Moon, or Stars. I chose stars because i had Kleancolor "Blind Date" with stars already in it.

 China Glaze "Smoke and Ashes" Capitol Colors 2012 (Hunger Games)

When i told people i thought i got "Stone Cold" and found out i had "Smoke and Ashes" i was kinda disappointed. However, like all the colors i've seen from the Capitol Colors collection in honor of the Hunger Games, this is a unique polish. I would describe "Smoke and Ashes" just as it's name. I picture wet (or hot rather) tar sprinkled with glimmer ash. You know at first how ash it really neat looking before you touch it or it blows away, "Smoke and Ashes" preserves that look. This it two coats, and this it the first polish in a while that has bubbled on me. You can see on my thumb in the left picture and on my ring finger on the right photo.

Color Zone "Unknown Blue Holo Glitter"

Before my trip to the swap meet i had never heard of Color Zone. This polish caught my eye because of the bright blue base and huge holo hex glitters. With a makeup sponge i added extra glitter to my tips going about half way down my nail.

This is where i went to far. Originally i wanted thin silver lines mixed in with the glitter from my tips, but i was having issues with my striper brush and i ended up with fat silver kinda lines on the opposite side of my nail. I was annoyed.

 Kleancolor "Blind Date"

Now for the over kill. The reason i went for the stars is because this was for a Mani Monday theme challenge. I used my striper brush to individually place the stars on my nails. I picked all the stars off by the end of the night, because they stuck up, and bugged the crap outta me. Over all, i need to keep it simple. Hope you enjoyed this mani more then i did :)

Imagine; a tropical island. Warm sun lightly toasting your skin as the UV rays beam down on you and your unprotected flesh. Salted sea water covering your sand sunken toes, lounging under an umbrella right out of a fruity cocktail, and your cabana boy with overly feminine soft hands gently polishing your nails a shocking pink. You cabana boy is also wearing a light pink polo shirt and hot pink short shorts.

"To add some corresponding shimmer to the blue duo-chrome of the pink," Cabana Boy will begin "I am going to used some Santee "Emerald" over the pink." He reaches for new polish then, with his girlish fingers he guides Black Diamonds across the corner tips of your nails, lightly twisting your comparably positively repulsive, calloused, dry, common woman's hands. Delicately, he dots along the corner tips.

Finally, you get to take a picture to capture the Motley flakies Cabana Boy used over Black Diamonds only to find that you have suffered terrifying tip wear from digging for clams to smuggle on the plane home, to pretend like your in paradise when you return home to your cluttered abode in your kitty pool full of sand and you natural light sun bulb for photographing your nails.

Cut (Black/Red)

I love this look. And it only took two colors! I hate using only one or two colors because i have so many! It almost feels like i'm wasting a day if i don't take advantage of my collection. I wore this the day i went up to Fresno. I hate that place. Hobos and hospitals. That's all they have over there.  I don't have a lot to say today, so just enjoy.

Workling (Green/Black)

Good evening, (it's currently 10:43pm) today has been a busy day. It's currently Monday, but this post will be future dated, so i'm speaking to you from the past. I got back from Fresno yesterday from seeing my dad in the hospital, he's doing so much better, and we hope to be able to transfer him closer to home soon, Hopefully soon. But i got news today that he;s able to eat now! Just little stuff, and it has to be mostly liquid, but he can eat, and that was really a big hurdle. I've been working nearly full time lately and i feel like my looks have been lacking some luster because of it. I'll have to do a good one this weekend.

My Chemical Romance Concert Look

A lot of you may know them as the lamest band on earth, but i love My Chemical Romance. I saw them way back when on the Black Parade tour but just this past weekend i was able to attend the show at the Palladium in Hollywood. My excitement was huge. Unfortunately the excitement of hundreds of other fans was much greater then mine, because by the time i got to Hollywood at 3:00, the line had already wrapped clear around the block.

To Early (Black/Red)

They just won't let us go. this morning i had to drag myself out of bed into the morning gloom for graduation practice, it sucked. Not that it was like super early or anything, but when you've had the sleeping schedule of a hamster for the past week, getting up at 7 isn't much fun. So i had about fifteen minuets this morning and decided to throw together a quick look. This isn't much but as i type my friend is in the bathroom touching up his next guest drag look. So if this is a let down you're going to have that to look forward to :)

Quest (Gold/Black)

This is from...not yesterday but the day before. But due to the fact that i'm super lagging on my blog right now, due to the excitement of life, it's being posted today. I promise i'm gonna get back on track today. I go home today. I haven't been home more then like 6 hours in the past 3 or 4 days. But i'm chillin out at home today with my kitty, after i get home. I was smart enough to load pictures on to photobucket before i left yesterday so i could do this, this morning. So yea. :D

Black Hole (Black/Purple)

Happy Mother's Day all you mothers out there! Now i know, mother's day, i'm supposed to tone down and be cute and sweet looking. Yea, maybe if i wasn't going to wear my glitter hooker shoes to brunch. But yea, i wore my glitter platform heals out to have brunch with my grandparents and the rest of my family. But that's just how we roll. They got over my oddity years ago. I'm working very slowly on finishing up my Products for Prom haul...i'm scared of reviewing the foundations i for because that is an area of super inexperience for me. I'll have them up by the end of this week though. Or some time in the near future, but they will get done!

It seems like its been a few days since i posted a decent look. You know, with the exception the the Primped for Prom post. Then again, depending on what your definition of decent is, that might not have been included. So let's talk about Monday! And how much it sucks! And lets talk about THIS LOOK on Kimmie Karma Love's blog that i did for a guest spot and forgot to notify anyone about! Haha, i'm lame. Anywhooooo! This was a little out of my comfort zone today as i don't typically use like blacks, grays, and so forth. But i have a few in my collection, and they are sad because they don't get used that often. So here is their 15 minutes of fame for now. Enjoyyy. OH! side note! This look was mildly inspired by my kitty....so i think some time this week i really want to do one that looks more like her with gray, black, and white. Because i love her. Antique Me (Red/Black)

 When i woke up this morning i had my mind set on doing a green and yellow look...then i was leaning more towards a pink look...then i remembered that i haven't even opened Isis!!! Seafloor Gold (Blue/Black)

 Today i finally got the oppertunity to sit down for a while and spend like an hour and a half picking out of my new BFTE colors. I flet like i neeeeded to use blue today, so starting with Blueberry i went at it. The gold was...unexpected in this, but had i not done the gold, i woulld have had to have gone another day not knowing how AMAZING Autumn really is.

Radiation (Green/Black)

 So my internet went out yesterday! (Stupid internet) and obviously i was unable to post >.< But i'm back online today and i could potentially post three new looks today...probably only two though. Anyways, this look was mildly inspired by the recent radiation hype we have going on around here in Southern California because of you know, Japan exploding and being underwater and all that junk.

Starlight (White)

This look as a whole is...kinda unusual i guess. I look really odd on my eye because there was so much white. I wore this to an open house/fashion show that a college i plan on attending in the near future was putting on. There isn't much to this look, just a lot of white.

Gilded Dragon (Red/Gold/Black)

I noticed i haven't used a lot of red lately, as compared to before when i was all over Love + every day. So this came about i started with a plain red lid and just worked from there. 

Also, i'll have another mini haul posted in the next couple of days that will include some new N.Y.C. color duos, a Hard Candy gloss and new Powder Keg, and a stunning glitter polish by Pure ICE. 

Out Into the Galaxy (Purple)

I really wish i had more time to do theses looks better in the morning, but that would require me getting up at 5AM. And quite frankly i'm not down with the AM. Even though i didn't get to be as perfect as i would have liked to with this look, i still really liked it.

Sugar Sweet (Pink/Red/Black)

Another primarily Sugarpill look. And more fun with tape. Not much to say about this one. No crazy story. i get up at 5:30am every morning. I don't have time for stories some times. >.<

Black Cherry (Red/Black)

The dark and stormy weather here in SoCal calls for a dark and mysterious look. this look shows the darker side of Sugarpill's Love6+, the magic of shimmer shadows and a blending brush, and how a good volumizing mascara can add extra drama to a dark and mysterious look.
