In the spirit of the freezing cold, and the exciting addition of Snow Globe to my collection, i wanted to do an icy like mani. I thought a light blue would be perfect for the theme. Although some one also said it reminds her of the ocean. I still feel like its far more ice like.
For this mani i used....
Color Club "New Bohemian"
Color Club "Lumin-Icent"
Nubar "Baby Blue"
China Glaze "Snow Globe"
Began with two coats of Color Club's "Lumin-Icent" from the recent Foiled collection. This is one of my favorites of the collection. It's obviously a metallic but not so in your face metallic. The light blue hue of this shade give it the feel of an arctic glacier. I adore this polish not only because it's beautiful, but also because like the rest of the Foiled collection, this has a perfect formula that offers near full coverage in one coat. It's also great for stamping
With Color Club's "New Bohemian" i used a quarter of a foundation sponge to apply the color along the tips, one side, and near the cuticle. This is a color i though i'd never really use but i also find strangely appealing. But i'm really going to have to try it as a main color before i decide if i really like it. For now it looks good with this.
Again with the foundation sponge i applied Nubar's "Baby Pink" to add in a lighter color and create a minor contrast. I was careful not to cover all of my base color, but left a spot open where it could shine through. I felt like this open spot looked similar to a break in a frozen lake.
To finish off the ice extravaganza, i used a coat of China Glaze's "Snow Globe" over each nail. The multi-colored, muti-faceted glitter brought the sponged blotchyness of this mani all together into one put together look. I love this sooo much i could hardly take my eyes off the flashes of yellow, pink, and dark blues meshed into the glorious glitter.
Love this mani! Snow Globe is an amazing color! I may have to track it down!
