I was really excited about all my recent pumpkin polishes, but did not think i'd be using them nearly as much as i am now. The glow in that dark colors should not just be reserved for Halloween and spooky manis, but that can be utilized for cute girl designs as well. I was quite pleased with the way this turned out. I also wore this to a Halloween Haunt and my nails were glowing insanely all night long withh all the black lights and what not. I was so amused. This is a step by step post so keep reading to see how i did this ^.^
For this mani...
Blue Cross "Glow in the Dark Pink Pumpkin"
Pure Ice "Busted"
Sally Hansen "Lacey Lilac"
Wet n' Wild "Night Prowl"
I began with three coats of the glow in the dark pink pumpkin. The formula of this polish sucks. I'm not gonna lie. Its gritty, streaky, and all around difficult. But it glows. So i, and polish lovers a like deal with it. And honestly, this isn't really something that can't be fixed with extra coats and a good top coat.
I don't have a picture of step two, but i used two coats of Pure Ice Busted before i took a cut up foundation sponge to apply a bit of Lacey Lilac. Busted smoothed out my gritty glow in the dark and added shimmer with out blocking the glow factor of this polish. The light purple is going to block some of the glow, but i didn't care, because its pretty together :)
Again with the sponge, i took some of Wet n' Wild "Night Prowl" and darkened the tips. This layer was more straight and planned the the purple. This color is not meant to over power the design but simply add a darker accent color.
Finally, with a dotting tool i made three dots near the cuticle with Lacey Lilac. I felt that the lower part of my nail was a little lonely so i had to add a tad of light decoration.
