Milani Eye Shoadows in "Lilly White" and "Black Out" (Review)

Last weekend i put up a Mini Haul from Target (Target Mini Haul) that included the white eye shadow from Milani called Lilly White. Along with Lilly White i also already owned the color Black out. Since i have both of those on hand i though i'd review them together.

Company Description: A silky-smooth powder eye shadow that delivers unbelievable color with a curved double ended applicator. The innovative shape of the curved applicator was designed for easy application. Use the sponge applicator WET or use a thin brush to apply as eye liner to create a glamorous, intense effect on the eyes. Use the brush applicator DRY for blending and shading for a subtle, natural finish.

Available in 12 stylish shades.
NET WT 0.07 OZ/2.1g
What I Think: They make this shadow sound easy. When i first got Black Out i was fairly disapointed because the pigmentation when using it dry was just so aweful. It was too sheer, and just didn't apply well. When used wet these shadows are amazing and that's the only time i every love them. The double ended applicator it really neat for travel and what not. Unlike most drug store shadows, this one comes with a brush applicator as well as a sponge.
This picture is upside down, but you can clearly see both colors. One thing i didn't like about these shadows it that they are convex shaped. So the bulge out all round and i think it makes it more difficult to pick up the color.
The back of each shadow. I do really like the packaging both of these come in. It's sleek and not too bulky.
Each shadow comes with it's own double ended applicator. The brush end isn't of the highest quality, but it gets the job done. The sponge end is obviously just a sponge tip applicator. Nothing to special.
Both colors applied dry. Lilly White is on top Black Out below. As you can see it's rather difficult to get good pigment out of these dry. When applying dry i found the spot on the shadow that i had previously used wet gives off a lot more color once it's dry. So half of my shadow has all been used wet, and once it driess it works better as a dry shadow.
Lilly White, apply dry over no base. this color does look fantastic over a white base such as NXY jumbo eye pencil in Milk
Sparkle Pure  uses Lilly White as a main color
Black Out applied dry with no base. I love the silver glitter in this color, it really stands out when used wet.
I like to use this color wet as a base for really dark purples or reds.
This Kerli Inspired look used Black Out as a base
Both colors applied wet. The difference is amazing
Lilly White. This color has a lot more sparkle to it, but it didn't show because this picture was taken with out a flash
Black Out applied wet. You can see how much more the silver glitter pops when this shadow is used wet.

Price: $5.99 at Target

Worth it?:If you don't mind using pressed shadows wet these are fabulous. The simmer and glitter in them is stunning. I like to use both Lilly White and Black Out as a base color. They don't have any color tint to them so they work with any other color of eye shadow. they are difficult to work with dry unless you don't mind re-applying a million times to get a darker pigmentation.

Will I Buy It Again?: I may or may not buy one of these shadows again. they do have some other very pretty colors in the line that i some day may consider. I positivly adore these when used wet, but i'm not a huge fan of using shadows wet. (Runway Eyes Eye Shadows on Cherry Culture)
