E.L.F. Matte Eyeshadow in Charcoal (Review)

The E.L.F. Haul begins! this is the first product review from the recent E.L.F. haul. Just a basic matte black eyeshadow, that feels like it's actually ground up charcoal. o.O go figure.Keep reading for more info.

Company Description: The pigment-rich color delivers a vibrant effect while minimizing fine lines. The creamy texture blends in evenly for an all over matte look. This eyeshadow provides long lasting coverage and brilliant payoff for maximum performance. Perfect for wearing alone, contouring or using as a setting powder. Brush included!

What I Think: I bought this shadow to do just what it says it does. I needed a nice matte black eye shadow that i can wear alone and use to contour. This shadow ended up being perfect! It is a little messy at times, but that's only because its so super pigmented. It defiantly delivers when it comes to color coverage.

On the E.L.F. products there is usually a little circle sticker that says what the name of the product is. In this case "Charcoal" If you click on the picture it will get bigger.
the eyeshadow comes in a litte box like the ones the cream liners come in
They're accompanied by a small brush, not sponge tip!
The back of the packaging.
All the shadows come with a little brush like this. I think its a great added bonus.
This matte shadow form the E.L.F. Studio line comes in a square shifter jar.
How ever, i found the combination of sifter and shadow to be very messy.
I think the sifter is a little unnecessary, but if you like sifted jars you can leave it
Luckily it can be easily taken off.
The shadow itself has a few lumps and bumps in it but they break up on contact
With sifter and with out flash
With out sifter and with out flash
This is a true black. That's all there is to it. No duo tones and reflects. Just matte black.
It also kinda looks like charcoal...I found it a little odd
 With out flash
I had no problem working with the shadow. It picks up easy and heavy on any brush i've tried. It offers a lot of coverage with out going back for more product
 With flash
It spreads and blends fairly easy. The only complaint i have about this shadow it that it seems to have a brown quality to it around the edges, so you have to put extra effort into blending if you want to avoid that
With out flash again

Price: $3.00 at Eyes Lips Face .Com

Worth it?:For three dollars! Yes! I also got this half off in the Studio sale, so even more worth it. If you want a nice black matte shadow i'd give this a try. It's a wonderful product that i really like. No fooling around when it comes to this one. It does what it says it does, and beautifully so.

Will I Buy It Again?:Yes, there are many other shades of matte eye shadow from e.l.f. that i've been looking at even closer now that i know this one works so perfect. Although it is a little messy its something i'm willing to get over.
