Just Breathe (Purple)

It feels like it's been ages since i posted a new look. With all the new hauls and reviews i've kinda put the look business on the back burner. But now it's back and on track. Well for today at least. Today's look uses a lot of Sugarpill, a couple Hard Candy products and and Eye pencil by Rimmel that i am trying to learn to love.

I was actually going to attempt a tutorial for this look, but here's the thing...i don't plan well enough to instruct. I just kept making this up as i went a long so it was difficult to break it down into steps. If there are any looks that you'd like to see a tutorial for, post it in the comments either here or on that look and i'll be sure to do my best.
Tape off the sides of your eyes for a clean line
Start out with a light frosty purple on the inner half of the lid
Use a dark matte purple like Sugarpill's Poison Plum  on the rest of the lid. Bring this color out far enough so that you have a taped point on the outer half of your eye
Use a very light, very high shimmer purple such as Hard Candy's Powder Keg in Sinful on the brow bone
Here is where you get to witness the extreme lack of patience when attempting to blend out matte colors.
Use a matte white and lightly apply it over the light shimmer purple. Use more on the inner corner to make it lighter
Go back with your dark matte purple and darken up the outter half of the brow bone
Use a matte pink like Sugarpill's Dollypop for the crease. You don't want screaming pink, but you want a pink over tone. Feel free to drag this color around the area as needed to try and every out the over all surface
Find a metallic blue eyeliner to use along the lower lash line
Go over the blue liner with a mild shimmer blue like Sugarpill's Afterparty
Bring the blue shadow all the way out under the clean line after you remove the tape from your eyes
Use the same blue shadow again to make three tapered lines following the curve out your brow bone
Use a purple glitter liquid liner to make one dot on the inner corner of each eye
Use the smae glitter liner for two small lines on the outter corner
Use a black mascara on the top lashes. And a blue mascara on the lower lashes

  1. This is a really beautiful look. It's so creative and daring, yet still the kind of thing I'd want to wear, you know?
