Like the Color Plush "Sapphire Siren," this pallet was also a part of the Products for Prom haul. And even though i didn't use these in my prom look, i had to have them. I was really meh about this apllet when i started swatching it, because i wanted it to be more pink. I guess the name Taupe Temptress should have tipped me off. In the end i still really like this pallet and actually wore some colors from it today in "Playing Safe"
At first glance these look pink right? Pretty pinks, right? Well prepare to be amazed.

What I Think: I was super surprised at how smooth and soft these shadows were. Compared to other these do have a softer looking texture and go on super easy. The silky smooth formula allows you to blend with like colors very easy . I didn't have a lot of trouble getting a good pigmentation out of these when used over a base, but alone they spread a little thin. I do think the pans are a little small, i'd like them all to be at least the size of the white shadow. Over all i do really love the texture and consistency of the shadows. there ain't really colors that work worse then others
That is the name that should have let me know that these aren't pink, lol.
comes with the double ended sponge tip applicator.
Now they look a bit more peachy, but still not at all what i expected.
I'm thinking you have to used these wet to actually get the colors shown in the demo

This white has a very veyr light pink tint to it. I like it quite a lot. I've found myself using it for highlights regularly. Silky smooth and powder soft <3
Kinda a mauvey pink for the lighter color in this pallet. It is my favoite out of the four colors, but it's a but mysterious. Every time i use it, i kinda come up with differnt results.
I didn't understand the color transition between this one and the last one until i tried them together. this is kinda a gray/silver/pink color that is super unique. I can honestly say i've never seen a color like this before.
And this, is the most deceiving color in the quad. Before you touch it, it appears to be just a darker pinkish color, but then i went to use it...
...Kinda looks like poo after you use it. I swear to you, that is the exact same color as the one in the previous picture. Super weird right? Do you see why i could think these were all pinks?
On the left these were swatched over no base
Right over NXY Milk
These close ups were really difficult to get, so bear with me.
No base on the left.
Over Milk on the Right

It seems that each color takes on a completely new life once put over a base. I really like the darkest color the most in the end
Price: $7.94 at Walmart
Worth it?:While these are amazing quality shadows with a silky smooth texture like no other, you may feel a bit gypped when you see the price. I think $8 is a little scary in a drug store especially for a new product. When i saw the pallets i was surprised at how little they were. In the end i don't regret the purchase, but i think these are going to be more of a treat then an every time things when i go looking for makeup. It's on the MEH level of worth it. It really depends on how in love with the colors you are. I like the colors in this pallet but not loooveeee
Will I Buy It Again?:I've already got two and i quite like them, and i'm eying the purple and gold ones. I want to get those but i'm going to play with these a little longer to see if it's truly worth it to me. I probably won't buy this particular one again, only because its something i don't wear that often

Adding a base before applying the eye shadows is really a smart move! The colors look so much more better :D I used my girlfriend's palette before and I quite like it too.
ReplyDeleteI always used a base with my shadows. It gives them a whole new life! It's almost like its not the same color sometimes. Plus, it makes them last longer
