So by now you must have come to the realization that i am in love with my Antoinette's Revolution pigments. And because of this love, i'm going to do something a little ridiculous. Some thing that in my head i like to call "color feature." For "Color Feature" i'm going to take every color i ordered and make an individual post for each. This will give me the ability to really glorify all the amazingness of each color. Also, i'll be able to put up more swatches for each over more bases. I hope you kinda can be on board with this method. I will round up all the swatch posts as i go long and make one huge one for easy navigation. Here goes nothing.
ARC's Description:Original name Golden Rose, Dusty Rose is for the loveliest of ladies. A soft dusty rose color, loaded with tons of gold shimmer, perfect for a gorgeous spring afternoon.
My Description: Dusty Rose is one of those colors that i usually look at and stick up my nose because it's so normal. I'm so glad i took a chance. Dusty Rose has become one of my favorite colors from ARC. It's a very soft pink much like that of a fresh pink rose sprung in spring, but what really catches me on this is the gold in it. The gold against the soft pink makes a splendid image in my head of a pink rose covered in due drops with the morning sun coming up behind it.

You can see the "dusty" quality and the light sparkles of gold all through out
Of course, the ingredients are listed on the bottom of the jar.
If you do use your pigments for lip color, this is a lip safe pigment
To swatch this color i used the following bases
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk"
Revlon Cream pallet in "Electric Pop" (White)
Top to bottom:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk"
Revlon Cream pallet in "Electric Pop" (White)
From left to right
"Electric Pop" (White)
"Milk"
Over "Milk"
The creamy white base really lets the more true dusty quality of this soft pink show through.
Over "Pots and Pans"
With a silver base, the gold metallic reflects in this color are kinda washed out but in a way intensified. It takes away the more softer color and give it more of a futuristic pink feel. Like what a rose would look like had it been made of chrome
Over "Electric Pop" (White)
A cream base with an illuminating shimmer to it will give this look that extra sheen to totally achieve that "sun rise rose" look. Not only does it turn up the pink, but the gold also stands out more
This concludes the first of many "Color Features"
:)

I didn't think I'd love Dusty Rose but when I got it and swatched it in person, I went from "Hmm..." to "WOW!" :D
ReplyDeleteWhat's the difference between a shadow and a pigment? Just curious :)
ReplyDeleteI switch off between shadow and pigment when referring to most of my loose shadows, but i think of shadows being more pressed, where as i call a lot of my loose colors pigments because you can use them for more then just eye shadow.
ReplyDeleteSo i guess simply, a shadow is an eye shadow and is rather limited in it's uses. A pigment is loose and can be used for a variety of purposes such as lip color, nail polish, ect.
