Rimmel Moisture renew Lipstick in "Berry Rose" (Review)

Hooray! the last post for the Lip Stick Haul! This wasn't as scary as i though it would be. Now what is scary are all the pink lipstick i got this weekend trying to find a perfect CYY dupe. I got close, but not there yet. Is there a preference on what you gals want to see next? THE QUEST FOR CANDY YUM YUM, or PRODUCTS FOR PROM. Yes, i'm 18 and still in high school, and i'm doing some crazy for prom. I'll be sure to put it up. I'm doing a test run today. Does any one know where to get lash glue? Because i haven't been able to find any.I need it to glue rhinestones to my face. Anyways...Quest for CYY includes four different lip colors that come close but not quite there. Products for Prom consists of the new Fit Me Foundations. A Dream Matte Mouse Foundation. Some Maybelline Color Plush pallets, and two random purple eye shadows i got. I'll put a poll up on the side bar and see what you want next. Either way i'm in for a ton of swatching. I was at the mall again this weekend to pick up my prom dress and my arm is still stained with lip stick swatches.

I picked out this lip color simply for the amazing purple packaging, but i was quite pleasantly surprised that it's also a very nice product. Despite the generic lipstick smell, i really like this.

Company description:Smoother Lips, Better Colour
This moisture-infused lip essential reduces lip dryness by up to 65% for smoother lips and better colour. Developed with SPF 18 and a cutting edge Self Adapting Moisture Complex that features Hylaronic Acid, Collagen and Vitamins A, C and E to nourish lips, leaving them with a smoother surface for better colour application and wear. 24 creamy, moisturizing shades come richly wrapped in an elegant metallic purple case.

What I Think: Not only does this lip stick look great in my makeup collection but its also an amazing product. The moisture renew feature is true to its word, my lips feel soft and hydrated after wearing this. It also claims to have SPF 18 with is fabulous, because as much as i don't want to get skin cancer on my lips, i really make no effort to wear SPF on my lips, so i love that it does this for me. This color is long wear and stays in place. Super pigmented but the range of color from this shade is limited. It does have that lipstick smell that reminds me of old ladies...but i get over it once i have it on for a while. Over all i really like this lip color. And for some reason i don't have more yet. Probably because i've only seen them at Target.

The AMAZING purple packaging. If your a purple addict like me, you understand my obsession.
This color is close to the actual color. The actual lip stick itself has shimmer in it which you can see most in the first picture of this post. It's not an over powering glitteryness, but it really is just perfect.
The Left is with Flash, Right is with out
You get a decent amount of product. I see it as a tiny but short....but the purple kinda makes that up for me.
The true color is exactly in between the colors shown in these two pictures. It's not as bright as the one of the left, but not nearly as dark as the one on the right.
On my arm with no flash in low light. This pinky red color goes on very smooth with no pulling or unnecessary tugging. The color comes up quick eliminating the need to apply multiple coats

BEFORE
AFTER
Lovely, lovely. I really like this lip color because it doesn't run away. I don't wear a lip liner with it. It's perfect just the way it is.
AFTER
No Flash
This color isn't to over powering, it's just enough to enhance the natural beauty of your lips.

Right after application. Still a ton of color on my lips.

Price: $5.49 at Target

Worth it?:Yes. I'd even say these are more worth it then the Cover Girl Lip perfections if they came in a bolder array of colors. Rimmel does offer 24 different shades of this product but they're all pretty bland. However, for under $6 this is an excellent product. They leave my lips soft and fully color. No super obnoxious smell, and it doesn't get all over food when i eat. Some still comes off but not as much as other lip sticks i own. I really like this particular color for just a "meh, i don't care lip", but it can also be paired with a bright look, give you a bold lip, that doesn't become to crazy with a bold eyeshadow look. So yes. I think this product is worth the price

Will I Buy It Again?:I probably will. I really like the formula a lot. It's not to sticky or slimy and not to dry either. It's really just about right. The color pay off is great, and it satys on for a long while.  For my next one i just have to find a color i like

  1. I just scrolled all the way down to the first page of your blog and I see a lot of pinks and I went like OMG! :D I'm loving all the pinks I see here and I've never tried any Rimmel lippies. I might have to go find one at a local store soon!

By the way, what is Candy Yum Yum? I saw it on another blog and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

  2. @mNg" Candy Yum Yum is one of the new MAC lipsticks that was released with the recent "Quite Cute" collection. It's an amazing bright neon matte pink and i'm in love with it. People are going insane over it too. It's going for over $50 on ebay right now, because it's sold out every where D:

  3. Ooo me likey! This color looks so pretty, like something I would wear if I was brave enough and unbroke enough to buy lipsticks! lol. I have to agree that I can tell just by looking at these swatches versus the CG swatches, this formula looks a bit more up my alley. All the swatches I've seen of the new CG lippies have looked uneven and really glossy.. I dunno how to explain it other than that. But I'll still probably give them a try, and I may give these Rimmel ones a look too. Thanks for the pics! :)

  4. @Emily: I know exaclty what you mean about the formulas. I LOVE the CG colors, but i love the Rimmel formula a lot more because, well, it's just better. I think it's not so messy. I get my CG lipsticks on like every thing.
