N.Y.C. Ultra Moist Lipwear in "Petal" (Review)

Ready? This marks the official start of my venture into lip color. If you read the LipStick haul post you'll know that this is a territory very very new to me and that i was very nervous going into this area of makeup. This was the first color i picked out. I was looking for something really close to me natural lip color and this is basically as close as it gets. lol, you can hardly notice when i have this on. It's basically a nude shade for me.

Company Description: Looking for uptown style? NYC New York Color Ultra Moist LipWear adds instant Upper East Side polish to your look at a rock-bottom price. A wardrobe of on-trend shades makes stealing runway looks simple. Built-in conditioner creates a creamy, dreamy texture on your lips for an ultra moisturized feel. From catwalk to sidewalk in seconds, now you’re ready to take on Manhattan!

What I Think: They're right, rock bottom price. this lipstick is only $0.99 at most locations and for me it was a really great start. but as i collected a few more colors and brands i liked this lipstick less and less. Its very..slippery compared to my other lip sticks. It's supposed to be ultra moisturized, but i just feel like my lips are covered in melting ice. Not cold melting ice either. Just slippery and melty. That's it, it's melty.

For $0.99 you get this much product, not bad.
One day after having this i almost chopped it in half. You can see in this picture a little knick that i attempted to smooth out on the side. I nearly hacked it off. >.< Now this lip stick is very unsteady and i feel like it's going to snap any day now because it's so "moisturized"
Petal is a very light pink with a hint of shimmer. this is defiantly a more reserved lipstick good for day time wear. It's not bold in any way but i don think it's very preety. I wear it for just running around the house or doing errands around town. It's really a nothing special shade for me.
These pictures are basically the same but i felt the need to put both up because one is slightly darker then the other. You can really see the shimmery side of this color on my arm. It does go on very smooth because its so slippery, but i feel it may glide on just a little tooo easy
BEFORE
AFTER
Like i said before, this color is very very similar to my natural lip color so you don't see much of a difference. So don't be fooled, this lipstick does cover very well, but you have to apply a few coats of it to get it all even.
You can see more of the color when i kissed the paper, it makes the pigment more obvious. A lot did come off but it stayed on for the most part. Out of all the lip colors i got, this one stays on for the shortest amount of time.

Price: $0.99 at Walmart

Worth it?: For starters yes. I'm really glad i got this lipstick because not only is it a perfect match for my lips but it also gave me something to compare in terms of quality. I do feel that this lip color is a lesser quality then all the other that i got. However it's not terrible. I still wear it, but i not often. I don't like how slippery it is, and i'm not entirely sure it really does any serious moisturizing. If you want soft moist lips just wear blistex. It wears for a little while but i usually end up wiping it off because i feel like it gets kinda slimy. But for $0.99 you might as well get one to see for yourself.

Will I Buy It Again?: I will probably buy another one of these but in a different more bold color. Since they're only $0.99 i can afford to be hit and miss on these colors. I will try more because i don't hate this product, and its cheap.
