N.Y.C Color Duet in "Island Sunset" (Review)

Not to long ago i did a review post of the N.Y.C. color Duets in "Bowling Green" and "Upper Zest Side" as part of the Walmart Haul. In the review it should have been clear that i loved them. So, folowing up on my love for this pint sized product, i bring to you the beautiful Island Sunset. You can see this duet in action on Petal Pusher

Company Description: It can be difficult to stand out in New York City. But with NYC New York Color City Duet Eye Shadow you have the power of two perfectly coordinated shades to make your eyes pop - at an eye-popping price! These silky, long-lasting, ultra-vibrant shades stay flawless for hours and hours. We think it’s about time you got the attention you deserve.

What I Think: This is only my second time dabbling in the N.Y.C. makeup and so far i'm really liking it. After purchasing the color duets in "Bowling Green" and "Upper Zest Side", i knew i had to have more.  Even thouhg i don't use these duets as a serious shadow all the time, i love them for the odd color highlights in my brow bone. The pink in this duet is perfect for a soft look for for spicing up a colorful look. I use the purple as a fabulous crease color, and also as an accent for other purples. Like the last duets i purchased i have nearly no complaints about these. Color picks up well, and pigments have a wide range of depth that can be pulled out.
These duets make makeup easy if you've just got this. The colors come labeled as highlight and contour, just incase you can't tell light from dark

Each duet comes with this nify little applicator, perfect for quick looks on the go
The only down fall i found with this duet as a whole is that i get tons of fall out and excess powder from the pink. I like my things neat and those pink specks all over don't make me very happy
The light side (Highlight) is a soft baby pink. This color is mostly matte but has a few hints of shimmer in it.
Not really a color a love, but it's a goo color to have.
The purple side is a kinda medium purple with more silver shimmer then the pink had. this one is a little more difficult to work with.
Top no base
Bottom over NXY Jumbo eye pencil in Milk

No base
The pink has a lot more buliding potential where as the purple tends to stay a little more transparent. Ummm, as to why the purple is spotted, i don't know. I think it's just my arm.
 Over White Base
When you use these over a base they improve amazingly. the pink pops into an almost electric color. the purple darkens and shows off some pink undertones.

Price: $2.99 at Walmart

Worth it?:Positively! I really like these "Duets" because they're cheap, good pigmentation, versatile, and smooth. With a lot of drugstore brands i find that they get lumps and bumps but i had no problem with these. I feel that they are a great quality product for the price. I really like the colors in this duo, even though you kinda have to use a base to get amazing color, but the potential is there

Will I Buy It Again?: Yes, as soon as my Walmart get the other duos in stock i plan to gobble them up. You can see the other shades as well as these ones on New Your Color's website.N.Y.C. Shadow Duets
I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the blue one next
